The 2019 5S Winner is…Oakville, ONT!!!

Over the last two years, Quala has been running an Annual 5S Competition companywide. The 5S program is orchestrated by Edie Reaves, our Executive Vice President of Quality & Operational Excellence. Throughout the year, employees at each facility are able to submit photos and information regarding any and all 5S projects they have performed.

The 5S program is used in many industrial organizations focusing on enhanced performance, organization, and efficiency. The 5S system is composed of five pillars that help employees achieve positive changes: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.

Edie confirms, “If you can comply and demonstrate any one of those ten core requirements or multiple ones, that is going to elevate your performance and the selection for the winner.”

In 2018 our overall winner was Shreveport Louisiana (facility number 279).

In 2019, Quala extended the competition to include regional winners and one overall Line of Business (LOB) winner. The winners for 2019 were:

Completing and implementing the 10 core requirements for this program takes dedication and teamwork. This year we are excited to see what our locations will focus on and what they will accomplish.
